Capital City Community Center is pleased to announce that its Smith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center (SHECLC) will provide pre-kindergarten (PreK) education to 90 children who live in Providence. SHECLC, affiliated with Gateway Healthcare, a Lifespan partner, is a 5-star quality-rated program. The Rhode Island Department of Education’s Pre-kindergarten Program funds free, high-quality pre-kindergarten classes in selected Rhode Island communities.
To be eligible for Cap City’s PreK program, children must be four years old by September 1, 2022 and they must be residents of Providence. Children are selected for participation in the program through a state-run lottery. Families can apply online or they may download the application by clicking on the link below. The application includes a list of all of the Pre-K sites across the State.
